The Nectarball Collection is a living archive of rare and iconic cannabis buds—curated with care, curiosity, and deep reverence by award-winning filmmaker and cannabis historian Mark Schulze. This one-of-a-kind collection began in 1972 when Mark’s adventurous aunt gifted him a golden flake of Acapulco Gold, igniting a lifelong fascination with the plant and its many expressions.
Over the decades, Mark has carefully preserved buds from some of the most legendary strains to emerge from North America and beyond. Each one tells a story—of culture, cultivation, resistance, and resilience. From Thai Stick to Colombian Gold, from Humboldt homegrown to Afghan Indica, the Nectarball Collection is both botanical time capsule and folk art—offering a glimpse into cannabis history through the plant itself.
This collection has been featured in publications, film projects, and photography, and plays a starring role in the documentary NECTARBALL: The Story of Cannabis. It’s a rare visual and physical chronicle of the cannabis movement—from prohibition to progress.
